Food to Go Anacortes is a weekend backpack food program that started in our elementary schools in September 2015. We now serve K-12, Cap Sante Alternative High School, and the Anacortes Family Center. Our mission is to provide nutritious, supplemental meals and snacks for students who may experience food insecurity over the weekends, which can affect their health and ability to learn. Often these children rely heavily on free or reduced cost breakfast and lunch offered throughout the week at school. Home deliveries are provided to many older students, if they prefer it.
Our volunteers pack and deliver bags to schools on Thursdays which then go home with the students on Fridays. We provide about 200 students with food weekly during a regular school year and through the summer. Our program is funded solely with generous donations from our community. One hundred percent of donations go to purchase food for students.

Food to Go accepts donations on an ongoing basis. Donations can be made anytime through the "Donate" tab.
